Two Directors of recycling company, Recyclite, have been awarded The Waste Management Industry Training and
Advisory Board’s (WAMITAB) top Certificate of Technical Competence.
Certificate candidates have to demonstrate competence in the workplace against a national occupational
standard, which is recognised as industry “good practice”.
Managing Director Julia Ingleson and Administration Director Gill Beazley received their awards from
WAMITAB Director General, Dr Lawrence Strong, during a presentation at the organisation’s Northampton
offices in May.
Dr Strong commented:
It is encouraging to see new recycling businesses being established to move the industry towards more
sustainable waste management practices. Julia and Gill achieved their COTCs in good time and I am sure
this will form a sound basis for competence development within Recyclite’s operations.
Recyclite starts WEEE Collection Service...
Non-hazardous WEEE can no longer be disposed of with general commercial waste. For producers of small
volumes of such waste, finding someone to take it away for recycling can be time consuming.
A WEEE recycling firm, Recyclite Ltd., has come up with a convenient and cost-effective service that relieves
producers of the burden of disposal and of the administration involved in complying with their ‘Duty of Care’
requirements.
The nationwide ‘Handibag’ service includes delivery of a heavy-duty bag capable of taking 45kg of items
such as computer screens, printers, fax machines, power tools, smoke alarms, light fittings, heating
controls and other sundry electrical items/devices; collection of the bag when full; all transport costs;
recycling or reuse of the waste and all the Duty of Care documentation (including the Waste Transfer Note)
needed to provide the required audit trail.
Recyclite Launches new Multibox Service...
Recyclite has launched a new Multibox service designed to provide lighting contractors and buildings
facilities managers with a flexible and economical service for the collection and disposal of
spent fluorescent tubes and sodium lamps.
The nationwide service is based on the distribution of a number of easy-to-carry boxes around a site.
This enables the immediate and safe storage of spent units, minimising the health and safety risks associated
with broken glass and mercury vapour escape.
Recyclite’s Managing Director, Julia Ingleson says that the service will appeal to those involved
in re-lamping contracts, Planned Maintenance services and Local Authority Civic Amenity Site management.
